Julie Chen Moonves will host the summer hit reality series Big Brother. The show returns to CBS on 5 August for the 2nd season. Chen Moonves has been involved in The Talk since 2010, when she was both the host and the moderator. Her writing background was evident before becoming host, but her desire was to write. In fact, it won her an Emmy. Her outstanding talk show also brought the host an Emmy. Between 2002 and 2010 Chen Moonves was the co-host for CBS News' morning weekday broadcast The Early Show. Prior to that, Chen Moonves was the CBS Morning News' anchor as well as the news anchor for The Early Show. After 9/11 She was taken to Cairo and tracked down the lead hijacker's father for a riveting and fascinating interview. Chen Moonves interviewed celebrities such as Denzel Washington and Angelina Jolie. In addition, she met with ex- New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani and Queen Rania. Chen Moonves covered the Emmy Award-winning CBS Sunday Morning News show. He also interviewed celebrities such as Jamie Lee Curtis or Paula Abdul. Before joining The Early Show he was a CBS affiliated station's reporter in New York City, WCBS. Her previous jobs include working as a reporter with ABC NewsOne, the network's affiliated news service (1992-1995) and as a desk-assistant in ABC News' Los Angeles Bureau (1990-1991) as well as completing her final year of college at the University of Southern California. Her first broadcasting job was as a desk associate to ABC News' late-night broadcast Nightline along with Ted Koppel, who remains among her journalistic heros. Chen Moonves collaborated with Koppel to produce the Columbia du-Pont-winning special Anatomy of a Riot which focussed on events surrounding the Los Angeles riots of '92.
