Emily Irene VanCamp, who originally wanted to be a professional dancer, grew fascinated by acting when she hung out with her sibling Katie on The Ladies Room set. While learning to act and acting lessons, VanCamp was offered the role of a guest on a show that aired in Canada. She was on, among other shows, in Are You afraid of Dark? Radio Active, Dice. VanCamp made a breakthrough in his career after he was cast on the WB horror-mystery series Glory Days as Sam Dolan. It was cancelled after just nine episodes, despite getting positive reviews. However, she was successful to secure a new role Amy Abbott on Everwood. This role led to her being nominated as a Young Artist Award nominee and for four Teen Choice Awards.
